School Uniform
Our school uniform is expected to be worn with pride.
ALL STUDENTS REQUIRE:

A bottle green polo shirt with a gold strip on the collar and the Hawera Intermediate logo

A bottle green sweatshirt with the Hawera Intermediate logo

A green and yellow school jacket, able to be worn in/around school and in class if desired

A bottle green bucket hat

In Terms 1 & 4, plain black sandals with a back strap and no other markings. This includes the Havianas brand with a backstrap. Black shoes with navy blue socks can be worn

In Terms 2 & 3, plain black leather shoes (that can be polished and hold a shine). There are to be no other colours or markings on the shoes. These are worn with navy blue knee socks (not ankle socks). No canvas shoes for safety reasons.

All uniform requirements can be purchased from The Warehouse, High Street, Hawera
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS UNIFORMS (for boys and girls):

Black sport shorts (including League shorts if mainly black)

Coloured T-shirt (either red, blue, or green) with the Hawera Intermediate logo

Skins may be worn, (if above knee length) under shorts
UNIFORM DRESS CODE:

On wet days, non-uniform wet weather gear may be worn to and from school.

School uniform jackets may be worn only during school.

PE uniform is to be worn for all PE lessons and sport practices.

Hair - Hair is expected to be neat and tidy. If longer than shoulder length, hair must be tied back, both for student safety and protection from head lice. Green, yellow, white or black hair ties, clips or headbands only are to be worn. No obvious hair colouring is to be used.

Nail polish and make up are not appropriate for school wear.

Jewellery - For safety and security reasons, it is inappropriate for jewellery to be worn at school. The only exceptions are:
- stud earrings
- a wristwatch
- Medic-alert bracelet
- Taonga or necklaces with special meaning (worn under the uniform t-shirt)
We encourage pride in wearing our uniform and appreciate your support in ensuring that your child is correctly and neatly attired each day.
ALL PERSONAL POSSESSIONS, EQUIPMENT AND ITEMS OF CLOTHING ARE TO BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE OWNER'S NAME.
